For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us. Romans 8:18

Discussion:

While living under the yolk of addiction and seeing our loved one suffer or experiencing the pain of betrayal, instability, deceitfulness and lies that go with being in a marriage to an addict it is easy to think that if you just leave them YOUR life will be easier because you will have extracted yourself from the pain.  It’s exhausting at times to continue to bear the burden that your loved one puts you under but this verse reminds us that whatever physical pain and suffering we are in is nothing compared to the glory we will receive for following God’s command which is to LOVE.

Journal:

What kind of pain are you put through and how can you help focus on the ultimate glory that will be granted to you for your faithfulness in Christ’s commandments?

Breathe Prayer:

Give me vision of your glory that is yet to come.

Meditation:

Even when it seems your life is out of control God has everything in the palm of his hand.  There are no words for the REWARDS of your present suffering.
